BNV : কিরিযত্‌-য়িযারীমের লোকরা এসে সেই প্রভুর পবিত্র সিন্দুকটি গ্রহণ করল| তারা সেটা পর্বতের ওপর অবীনাদবের বাড়িতে নিয়ে গেল| অবীনাদবের পুত্র ইলিয়াসকে তৈরী করবার জন্য তারা একটি বিশেষ অনুষ্ঠান করল যাতে সে পবিত্র সিন্দুক পাহারা দিতে পারে|
KJV : And the men of Kirjath-jearim came, and brought up the ark of the LORD, and brought it into the house of Abinadab in the hill, and sanctified Eleazar his son to keep the ark of the LORD.
YLT : And the men of Kirjath-Jearim come and bring up the ark of Jehovah, and bring it in unto the house of Abinadab, in the height, and Eleazar his son they have sanctified to keep the ark of Jehovah.
RV : And the men of Kiriath-jearim came, and fetched up the ark of the LORD, and brought it into the house of Abinadab in the hill, and sanctified Eleazar his son to keep the ark of the LORD.
RSV : And the men of Kiriathjearim came and took up the ark of the LORD, and brought it to the house of Abinadab on the hill; and they consecrated his son, Eleazar, to have charge of the ark of the LORD.
ASV : And the men of Kiriath-jearim came, and fetched up the ark of Jehovah, and brought it into the house of Abinadab in the hill, and sanctified Eleazar his son to keep the ark of Jehovah.
ESV : And the men of Kiriath-jearim came and took up the ark of the LORD and brought it to the house of Abinadab on the hill. And they consecrated his son Eleazar to have charge of the ark of the LORD.
ERVEN : The men of Kiriath Jearim came and took the Lord's Holy Box up the hill to the house of Abinadab the priest. They performed a special ceremony to prepare Abinadab's son, Eleazar, to guard the Lord's Holy Box.

BNV : কিরিযত্‌-য়িযারীমে সিন্দুকটি দীর্ঘ 20 বছর ধরে ছিল|ইস্রায়েলীয়রা আবার প্রভুকে অনুসরণ করতে শুরু করল|
KJV : And it came to pass, while the ark abode in Kirjath-jearim, that the time was long; for it was twenty years: and all the house of Israel lamented after the LORD.
YLT : And it cometh to pass, from the day of the dwelling of the ark in Kirjath-Jearim, that the days are multiplied -- yea, they are twenty years -- and wail do all the house of Israel after Jehovah.
RV : And it came to pass, from the day that the ark abode in Kiriath-jearim, that the time was long; for it was twenty years: and all the house of Israel lamented after the LORD.
RSV : From the day that the ark was lodged at Kiriathjearim, a long time passed, some twenty years, and all the house of Israel lamented after the LORD.

ERVEN : The Box stayed there at Kiriath Jearim for a long time. Twenty years passed while the Holy Box was in Kiriath Jearim, and the Israelites began to follow the Lord again.

BNV : শমূয়েল ইস্রায়েলীয়দের বলল, “যদি তোমরা সত্যিই মনে প্রাণে প্রভুর কাছে ফিরে আসো তাহলে ভিন্দেশী অন্যান্য মূর্ত্তিকে অবশ্যই তোমাদের ফেলে দিতে হবে| অষ্টারোতের সমস্ত মূর্ত্তিকে ছুঁড়ে ফেলে দিতে হবে| প্রভুর সেবায অবশ্যই তোমাদের সম্পূর্ণভাবে নিজেকে সমর্পণ করতে হবে| তোমাদের শুধু মাত্র প্রভুরই সেবা করতে হবে| তাহলেই তিনি তোমাদের পলেষ্টীয়দের হাত থেকে রক্ষা করবেন|”
KJV : And Samuel spake unto all the house of Israel, saying, If ye do return unto the LORD with all your hearts, [then] put away the strange gods and Ashtaroth from among you, and prepare your hearts unto the LORD, and serve him only: and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.
YLT : And Samuel speaketh unto all the house of Israel, saying, `If with all your heart ye are turning back unto Jehovah -- turn aside the gods of the stranger from your midst, and Ashtaroth; and prepare your heart unto Jehovah, and serve Him only, and He doth deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.`

ERVEN : Samuel told the Israelites, "If you are really coming back to the Lord with all your heart, you must throw away your foreign gods and your idols of Ashtoreth. You must give yourselves fully to the Lord and serve only him. Then he will save you from the Philistines."

BNV : একথা শুনে ইস্রায়েলীয়রা বাল এবং অষ্টারোতের মূর্ত্তি ফেলে দিয়ে কেবলমাত্র প্রভুরই সেবা করতে লাগল|
KJV : Then the children of Israel did put away Baalim and Ashtaroth, and served the LORD only.
YLT : And the sons of Israel turn aside the Baalim and Ashtaroth, and serve Jehovah alone;

BNV : শমূয়েল বলল, “সমস্ত ইস্রায়েলীয়কে মিস্পায জমায়েত হতে হবে| আমি তোমাদের জন্য প্রভু ঈশ্বরের কাছে প্রার্থনা করব|”
KJV : And Samuel said, Gather all Israel to Mizpeh, and I will pray for you unto the LORD.
YLT : and Samuel saith, `Gather all Israel to Mizpeh, and I pray for you unto Jehovah.`

BNV : ইস্রায়েলীয়রা মিস্পায সমবেত হল| তারা জল তুলল এবং সেটা প্রভুর সামনে ঢেলে দিল| এই ভাবে তারা উপবাস কাল শুরু করল| সেই দিন তারা কোন খাদ্য গ্রহণ না করে সমস্ত পাপ স্বীকার করল| তারা বলল, “আমরা প্রভুর কাছে পাপ করেছি|” এই ভাবে মিস্পায ইস্রায়েলীয়দের বিচারক হিসেবে শমূয়েল কাজ করতে লাগল|
KJV : And they gathered together to Mizpeh, and drew water, and poured [it] out before the LORD, and fasted on that day, and said there, We have sinned against the LORD. And Samuel judged the children of Israel in Mizpeh.
YLT : And they are gathered to Mizpeh, and draw water, and pour out before Jehovah, and fast on that day, and say there, `We have sinned against Jehovah;` and Samuel judgeth the sons of Israel in Mizpeh.

ERVEN : The Israelites met together at Mizpah. They got water and poured it out before the Lord. In this way they began a time of fasting. They did not eat any food that day, and they confessed their sins. They said, "We have sinned against the Lord." So Samuel served as a judge of Israel at Mizpah.

BNV : পলেষ্টীয়রা জানতে পারল ইস্রায়েলীয়দের মিস্পায সমবেত হবার খবর| ইস্রায়েলীয়দের বিরুদ্ধে পলেষ্টীয় শাসকরা যুদ্ধ করতে গেল| পলেষ্টীয়দের আসার সংবাদে ইস্রায়েলীয়রা ভয় পেয়ে গেল|
KJV : And when the Philistines heard that the children of Israel were gathered together to Mizpeh, the lords of the Philistines went up against Israel. And when the children of Israel heard [it,] they were afraid of the Philistines.
YLT : And the Philistines hear that the sons of Israel have gathered themselves to Mizpeh; and the princes of the Philistines go up against Israel, and the sons of Israel hear, and are afraid of the presence of the Philistines.
RV : And when the Philistines heard that the children of Israel were gathered together to Mizpah, the lords of the Philistines went up against Israel. And when the children of Israel heard it, they were afraid of the Philistines.

ERVEN : When the Philistines heard that the Israelites were meeting at Mizpah, they went to fight them. The Israelites were frightened when they heard the Philistines were coming

BNV : ইস্রায়েলীয়রা শমূয়েলকে বলল, “আমাদের জন্য, আমাদের প্রভু ঈশ্বরের কাছে প্রার্থনা করো, থেমো না! তাঁকে বলো, হে প্রভু পলেষ্টীয়দের হাত থেকে আমাদের বাঁচান!”
KJV : And the children of Israel said to Samuel, Cease not to cry unto the LORD our God for us, that he will save us out of the hand of the Philistines.
YLT : And the sons of Israel say unto Samuel, `Keep not silent for us from crying unto Jehovah our God, and He doth save us out of the hand of the Philistines.`

BNV : শমূয়েল একটা মেষশাবক নিয়ে এল| প্রভুকে সে এই মেষটি একটি সম্পূর্ণ হোমবলি হিসাবে নিবেদন করল| ইস্রায়েলের জন্য শমূয়েল প্রভুর কাছে প্রার্থনা করতে লাগল| প্রভু সেই প্রার্থনায সাড়া দিলেন|
KJV : And Samuel took a sucking lamb, and offered [it for] a burnt offering wholly unto the LORD: and Samuel cried unto the LORD for Israel; and the LORD heard him.
YLT : And Samuel taketh a fat lamb, and causeth it to go up -- a burnt-offering whole to Jehovah; and Samuel crieth unto Jehovah for Israel, and Jehovah answereth him;

BNV : শমূয়েল যখন মেষটি পোড়াচ্ছিল, সেই সময় পলেষ্টীয়রা ইস্রায়েলের বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করতে এল| আর তখন প্রভু পলেষ্টীয়দের দিকে প্রচণ্ড শব্দে বজ্রপাত করলেন| এতে তারা হতবুদ্ধি হয়ে পড়ল| ভয় পেয়ে গেল| ওদের নেতারা ওদেরই সামলাতে পারল না| তাই যুদ্ধে ইস্রায়েলীয়রা পলেষ্টীয়দের হারিয়ে দিল|
KJV : And as Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel: but the LORD thundered with a great thunder on that day upon the Philistines, and discomfited them; and they were smitten before Israel.
YLT : and Samuel is causing the burnt-offering to go up -- and the Philistines have drawn nigh to battle against Israel -- and Jehovah doth thunder with a great noise, on that day, upon the Philistines, and troubleth them, and they are smitten before Israel.

ESV : As Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to attack Israel. But the LORD thundered with a mighty sound that day against the Philistines and threw them into confusion, and they were routed before Israel.
ERVEN : The Philistines came closer and closer to fight the Israelites while Samuel offered the sacrifice. But then, the Lord caused a loud clap of thunder to hit near the Philistines. The thunder scared the Philistines, and they became confused, so the Israelites defeated them in battle.

BNV : মিস্পা থেকে বেরিয়ে ইস্রাযেলীযা পলেষ্টীয়দের তাড়া করল| বৈত্‌-কর পর্য়ন্ত সারাটা রাস্তা তাড়িয়ে নিয়ে গেল| আর সমস্ত পলেষ্টীয় সৈন্যদের ওরা পথে মেরে ফেলল|
KJV : And the men of Israel went out of Mizpeh, and pursued the Philistines, and smote them, until [they came] under Beth-car.
YLT : And the men of Israel go out from Mizpeh, and pursue the Philistines, and smite them unto the place of Beth-Car.

BNV : এরপর শমূয়েল একটা বিশেষ ধরণের প্রস্তর স্থাপন করল| উদ্দেশ্য, লোকরা যাতে প্রভুর কর্মকাণ্ড ভুলে না যায়| পাথরটা রইল মিস্পা এবং সেন এর মাঝখানে| শমূয়েল পাথরটির নাম দিল “সাহায্যের পাথর|” সে বলল, “প্রভু সমস্ত রাস্তা ঘুরে আমাদের এখানে আসতে সাহায্য করেছেন!”
KJV : Then Samuel took a stone, and set [it] between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Eben-ezer, saying, Hitherto hath the LORD helped us.
YLT : And Samuel taketh a stone, and setteth [it] between Mizpeh and Shen, and calleth its name Eben-Ezer, saying, `Hitherto hath Jehovah helped us.`

ESV : Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen and called its name Ebenezer; for he said, "Till now the LORD has helped us."
ERVEN : After this Samuel set up a special stone to help people remember what God did. Samuel put the stone between Mizpah and Shen and named the stone "Stone of Help." Samuel said, "The Lord helped us all the way to this place."

BNV : পলেষ্টীয়রা হেরে গেল| তারা আর ইস্রায়েলে ঢুকল না| শমূযেলের বাকি জীবনে প্রভু পলেষ্টীয়দের বিরুদ্ধে ছিলেন|
KJV : So the Philistines were subdued, and they came no more into the coast of Israel: and the hand of the LORD was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.

BNV : পলেষ্টীয়রা ইস্রায়েলের কিছু শহর দখল করেছিল| তারা ইক্রোণ থেকে গাত্‌ পর্য়ন্ত সমস্ত শহর নিয়ে নিয়েছিল| সে সব ইস্রায়েলীয়রা আবার ফিরে পেল| এই শহরগুলোর চারপাশের ভূখণ্ডগুলিও তারা জিতে নিল| ইস্রাযেল এবং ইমোরীয়দের মধ্যে শান্তি স্থাপিত হল|
KJV : And the cities which the Philistines had taken from Israel were restored to Israel, from Ekron even unto Gath; and the coasts thereof did Israel deliver out of the hands of the Philistines. And there was peace between Israel and the Amorites.
YLT : And the cities which the Philistines have taken from Israel are restored to Israel -- from Ekron even unto Gath -- and their border hath Israel delivered out of the hand of the Philistines; and there is peace between Israel and the Amorite.

BNV : শমূযেলের বাড়ী ছিল রামাতে| তাই প্রত্যেকবার তাকে রামায় ফিরে যেতে হত| ঐ শহর থেকেই সে ইস্রাযেল শাসন করত, বিচারের কাজকর্ম চালাত| রামায় শমূয়েল প্রভুর উদ্দেশ্যে একটা বেদী তৈরী করেছিল|
KJV : And his return [was] to Ramah; for there [was] his house; and there he judged Israel; and there he built an altar unto the LORD.
YLT : and his returning [is] to Ramath, for there [is] his house, and there he hath judged Israel, and he buildeth there an altar to Jehovah.
